Our mission is to provide reliable weekly access to nutritious food while fostering dignity, compassion, and community support for individuals and families in need.
ABOUT US
Our organization is dedicated to serving the community by providing weekly food support to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity. We believe that access to nutritious food is a basic human need and that strong communities are built when neighbors support one another.
Our work focuses on consistent weekly food distribution, volunteer engagement, and partnerships with local organizations to ensure that no one in our community has to face hunger alone. We strive to create an environment where every individual who comes to us is treated with dignity, respect, and compassion.
Through service, collaboration, and community support, we aim to reduce hunger while strengthening the bonds that make our community resilient and thriving.
The Helping Hands Foundations would like to recognize and thank several long-time volunteers from the Pentecostal City Mission Church. Sister Hyacinth Livington, Sister Glenda Coombs, Sister Minnette Alexander and Sister Dorothy Richards have been faithful volunteers since the Helping Hands Foundation began. Deacon Joe Brown and Deacon Nish Spencer joined the volunteer efforts within the last decade and have been valuable thought partners with navigating various challenges. Light Brigade Neville Miller has taken on a significant leadership role with the food donation program. Even though the Foundation now receives less food than when it began, Mr. Miller ensures that every person leaves with something.
